This episode of Hustle Inspires Hustle features Alex Quin and Michelle Chia, graphic designer and creative lead at UADV and a returning voice on the show. Michelle reflects on watching clients arrive with AI tools and ask, half joking, whether the agency was about to be replaced by them, and how her own resistance to using AI in design turned into daily use. What came out of that was a working method: use the tools, never hand them the final call.
Alex and Michelle dive into what AI actually replaces versus what it never touches, why every automation burns tokens and needs upkeep, which marketing roles are already getting hit, how AI slop is making everyone's graphics and captions look identical, and the brand bible approach that gives a model something real to work from. They also discuss the one process the agency did automate, why a marketing person is better at running an AI tool than a founder is, and why originality is now the only thing that separates two people producing the same volume. Ultimately, the conversation goes beyond AI tools to explore what happens to a brand when it stops sounding like a human.

Wisdom Nuggets
AI Multiplies a Team, It Does Not Replace One: The right setup can make a one-person marketing department produce like five people. It still cannot decide what to make, judge whether it landed, or notice when something is off brand. Buy the leverage, keep the human.
Your Output Is Only as Good as What You Feed It: A model with no context gives you the average of everyone else's answer. Feed it your case studies, your backstory, your dos and don'ts, and it starts sounding like you. Skip that step and you are publishing the same post as your competitor.
Curate the Output, Never Copy and Paste It: Take option A, take option B, build option C out of both. The value you add is the judgment about which parts are actually yours. Anything you paste straight out went out to somebody else too.
Build the Brand Bible Before You Build the Automation: Write down who you are, what you do, your process, your tone, your dos and don'ts, and store it where every new chat can read it. That single document is what makes the next answer sharper than the last. Without it, you are starting from zero every time.
Somebody Still Has to Log In and Turn It On: The best tool in the world does nothing until a person runs it, reads what it reports back, and fixes it when it breaks. A founder rarely has the time, the patience, or the vocabulary for that. That is the job you are still paying a marketer to do.
